Sales Assistant (Shop Floor)

The Moriarty Group, which is an Irish owned company, involved in both the retail grocery and hotel industries.  The company owns three large Super Valu, Stores in Balbriggan, Skerries and Palmerstown and two 4* hotels, the Courtyard Hotel, Leixlip, Co. Kildare and the Bracken Court Hotel in Balbriggan, Co. Dublin.  The company currently employees 550 staff.

 

The Moriarty Group of Super Valu's are 3 of the largest Super Valu stores in the Dublin area.  We are currently seeking to recruit Sales Assistants (Shopfloor) for our busy Skerries store.

The Role:

 

We have a mixture of both full-time and part-time casual positions available.  Full-time positions will consist of the candidate working 39 hours per week, 5 days over 7 to include weekends and public holidays.

 

The part-time casual positions will require the candidate to work 24-32 hours per week, 3 to 4 days over 7 to include weekends and public holidays.

 

Candidates must be flexible in their roster availability as they may be rostered for a day shift/ evening shift midweek as well as weekend work.

 

 

Main Duties:

 

  • Provide service excellence to our customers at all times.
  • Packing of stock onto shelves.
  • Merchandising.
  • Completing/placing orders.
  • Checkout duties.
  • HACCP Duties.
  • Assisting in all areas of the store if and when needed.

 

Requirements:

 

  • Previous experience working as a Shop Floor Sales Assistant in a busy grocery retail environment would be desirable but is not essential as full training can be given.
  • Must be fluent in the English Language both written and spoken.
  • Must be enthusiastic and a quick learner.
  • Must be able to multi-task and be willing to help out where required in all areas of the store.
  • Must have excellent customer care skills.
  • Excellent communications skills.
  • Excellent people skills.
  • Must be able to work as part of a team and on own initiative.
  • Must be available for midweek day shifts, early starts and late finishes.
