Scanning Operator

Scanning Assistant Opportunity at Moriarty’s Super Valu Skerries, Co. Dublin.

 

The Moriarty Group, is an Irish owned company, involved in both the retail grocery and hotel industries.  The company owns three large Super Valu, Stores in Balbriggan, Skerries and Palmerstown and two 4* hotels, the Courtyard Hotel, Leixlip, Co. Kildare and the Bracken Court Hotel in Balbriggan, Co. Dublin.  The company currently employees 550 staff.

 

The Moriarty Group of Super Valu's are 3 of the largest Super Valu stores in the Dublin area.  We are currently seeking to recruit a Scanning Assistant for our busy Skerries store.

 

If you are an experienced Scanning Assistant or would like to pursue a career in this area and you share our passion and enthusiasm for customer care, this could be an excellent opportunity for you.

 

The Role:

We this is a part-time position and will require the candidate to work 32 hours per week, 4 days over 7 to include weekends and public holidays.

 

Main Duties:

 

  • Ensure that all customers receive an excellent customer service experience during their visit to our store.
  • Ensure that all products are set up correctly on the gold system/scanning system so that they scan correctly at the checkout.
  • Ensure that products are priced correctly on the shelves/shop floor.
  • Maintain the integrity of the pricing system in-store.
  • Daily/weekly reports.
  • Assist in other areas of the store is needed.

 

Requirements:

 

  • Previous experience working as a Scanning Assistant in a busy grocery retail environment would be desirable but is not essential as full training can be given.
  • Must be fluent in the English Language both written and spoken.
  • Must be comfortable using a computer.
  • Must be enthusiastic and a quick learner.
  • Must be able to multi-task and be willing to help out where required in all areas of the store.
  • Must have excellent customer care skills.
  • Excellent communications skills.
  • Excellent people skills.
  • Must be able to work as part of a team and on own initiative.
  • Must be available for midweek day shifts, early starts, late finishes and weekends.
