Fresh Food Counter Staff Opportunity at Moriarty’s Super Valu, Skerries, Co. Dublin.

 

The Moriarty Group is an Irish owned company involved in both the Retail Grocery and Hospitality Industries. The company’s portfolio currently comprises of three large Super Valu Supermarkets in Balbriggan and Skerries in North County Dublin and Palmerstown, Dublin 20. The company also owns two 4* Hotels, the Bracken Court Hotel, Balbriggan, North County Dublin and the Courtyard Hotel, Leixlip, Co. Kildare. The company currently employee’s approximately 550 people.

 

The Moriarty Group of Super Valu's are 3 of the largest Super Valu stores in the Dublin area. We are currently seeking to recruit Fresh Food Assistants for our busy Skerries store. 

 

If you are an experienced fresh food counter staff or would like to pursue a career in this area and you share our passion and enthusiasm for fresh foods, this could be an excellent opportunity for you.


The Role: 

We have a mixture of both full-time and part-time casual positions available. Full-time positions will consist of the candidate working 39 hours per week, 5 days over 7.

 

  • The part-time casual positions will require the candidate to work 24-30 hours per week, 3 to 4 days over 7.

 

  • Fresh Food Assistants must be flexible in their roster availability and be able to work a mixture of early shifts/days shifts, midweek and weekend shifts.

 

Main Duties: 

  • Work with the fresh food teams in ensuring the smooth day to day running of the departments.
  • HACCP duties.
  • Food preparation & cooking.
  • Counter service.
  • Providing a high level of customer service at all times.

 

Requirements:

  • 1-2 years’ experience as a fresh food assistant (preferably within a deli producing a high volume of product) would be desirable but is not essential.
  • Ideally the candidate will have HACCP training but this is not essential as this training can be given.
  • Must be fluent in the English Language both written and spoken.
  • Must be enthusiastic and a quick learner.
  • Must be able to multi-task and be willing to help out where required in all areas of the fresh dept.
  • Must have a good knowledge of or interest in food.
  • Excellent communications skills.
  • Excellent people skills.
  • Must be able to work as part of a team and on own initiative.
  • Must be available for early starts.
