The Moriarty Group is an Irish owned company involved in both the Retail Grocery and Hospitality Industries. The company’s portfolio currently comprises of three large Super Valu Supermarkets in Balbriggan and Skerries in North County Dublin and Palmerstown, Dublin 20.  The company also owns two 4* Hotels, the Bracken Court Hotel, Balbriggan, North County Dublin and the Courtyard Hotel, Leixlip, Co. Kildare.  The company currently employee’s approximately 550 people.

The Moriarty Group of Super Valu's are 3 of the largest Super Valu stores in the Dublin area.  We are currently seeking to recruit experienced deli assistants for our busy Balbriggan store.

The Role:

This is a part-time position working an average of 24 hours per week/ 3 days over 7 to include weekends and public holidays.

Main Duties:

  • Work with the deli team in ensuring the smooth day to day running of the deli  department.
  • HACCP duties.
  • General department housekeeping duties
  • Food preparation & cooking.
  • Counter service
  • Providing a high level of customer service at all times.



  • A minimum of 1-2 years’ experience as a deli assistant in a busy deli dept/food premises is desirable although not essential as full-training can be given.
  • Must be HACCP trained.
  • Must be fluent in the English Language both written and spoken.
  • Must be enthusiastic and a quick learner.
  • Must be able to multi-task and be willing to help out where required in all areas of the fresh dept.
  • Must have a good knowledge of food.
  • Must have an interest in preparing/serving food.
  • Excellent communications skills.
  • Excellent people skills.
  • Must be able to work as part of a team and on own initiative.
  • Must be available for early starts and late finishes.
