Kitchen Porter Opportunity at the 4* Bracken Court Hotel, Balbriggan, Co. Dublin.

 

The Bracken Court Hotel is part of the Moriarty Group, which is an Irish owned company, involved in both the retail grocery and hotel industries. The company owns three large Super Valu, Stores in Balbriggan, Skerries and Palmerstown and two 4* hotels, the Courtyard Hotel, Leixlip, Co. Kildare and the Bracken Court Hotel in Balbriggan, Co. Dublin. The company currently employees 550 staff.

 

We are currently seeking to recruit a Kitchen Porter to join our professional kitchen team. If you have the relevant experience and/or  would like to develop your career within a busy hotel kitchen and have a real passion for food we could have an excellent opportunity for you.

 

The role:

We have both full-time and part-time positions available.

Full-time staff will work an average of 39/40 hours per week, 5 days over 7.

Part-time staff will work an average of 3 shifts per week, 3 days over 7.

These positions will require the individual to be flexible in their roster availability and must be available to work early/late shifts, weekends and public holidays.

 

Main Duties:

  • Manage the wash up section of the kitchen
  • HACCP duties
  • General kitchen hygiene/cleanliness duties
  • Working with the chefs in ensuring the highest level of cleanliness
  • Ensuring all cleaning schedules are adhered to

 

Requirements:

  • Previous experience in a similar role is desirable although not essential as training can be provided
  • Have a good knowledge of the importance of cleanliness and hygiene in a kitchen
  • Good organisational skills and the ability to follow instructions
  • HACCP training is desirable although full training can be provided
  • Must be able to multi-task and be willing to help out where required in all areas of the kitchen
  • Must be able to work as part of a team and on own initiative
