October 2007 – TV3's Ireland AM at The Court Yard Hotel
Local pupils entertain viewers as 'cook-off' filmed in Court Yard Hotel by Nicola Donnelly PUPILS from Colaiste Chiaran and Scoil Ui Dhalaigh in Leixlip entertained viewers of TVS's Ireland AM last Thursday morning (27th September) when the Court Yard Hotel hosted the station's breakfast show. Pupils from both schools performed both tradition- al and pop music recitals and sang songs through- out the morning's show. Celebrity chef Clodagh McKenna, Kerry football star Colm 'The Gooch' Copper also starred on the show, hosted by Alan Hughes as the final of the 'cook-off between the win- ners of a national recipe competition, organised by SuperValu took place. SuperValu stores coun- trywide invited customers to submit their favourite recipes for entry, into the competition, which will culminate in the publica- tion of a Charity Cook- book in time for the Christmas market. The Court Yard Hotel Manager Gavin O'Shea had the difficult task of choosing a winner among the four dishes cooked on the day by finalists from Laois, Cavan, Longford and Raheny in Dublin.
